A Serbian TV reporter had a gun pointed at her while she was filming in a vegetable market earlier this week, under-lining the dangers some facing much of the free press across the globe.

The scene, reminiscent of when two Virginia-based news crew members were executed on air by a “disgruntled former employee” in August 2015, showed a man brandishing and waving what may be a real gun before threatening the entire crew.

Public broadcaster RTV Vojvodina reporter Tamara Bojic’s continued her broadcast despite the interruption and possible threat from the man who later ran off.

The broadcaster has filed a complaint to the Serbian interior ministry. It responded that it is searching for the identity of the perpetrator.
