Mediaocean has bought BCC AdSystems as a means of getting into APAC and creating a fully global service for clients.

Both Mediaocean and Australia-based software company BCC AdSystems service the ad industry with software for the financial side of planning, buying and managing media.

The acquisition allows Mediaocean to now operate and collect data for reports on media ROI in China, India, Indonesia, Japan, Korea, Malaysia, the Philippines, Singapore, Taiwan, Thailand and Vietnam.

Bill Wise, chief executive of Mediaocean, said the move represented the fact that advertising is often a global effort.

“Advertising is a global enterprise, and our clients need a software solution that enables them to do business across the world – the addition of BCC will allow Mediaocean to provide just that. The combined strength of BCC products and Mediaocean’s expertise will help our clients capitalize on the enormous media opportunities offered by new and growing global market.”

Mediaocean itself received investment from private equity firm Vista Equity Partners last year, when it bought a majority stake. A key part of the investment strategy was to increase the global footprint of the business.
