Amazon is looking to attract US video gamers into its Prime membership with an appealing 20 per cent discount off pre-ordered titles.

As online retailer looks to secure itself as the go-to pre-order outlet, in addition to snapping up more Prime members from a rich gaming demographic, physical copies of top video games will come with a substantial discount.

With the AAA console games shipping at up to $60, the offer may secure Amazon a new raft of customers looking to make a saving in addition to benefiting from the free release day delivery for pre-orders and access to Amazon’s TV and music streaming services, incumbent with the Prime subscription.

One caveat is that gamers must process the pre-order more than two weeks before the release of respective titles.

The benefit will be available also to users who activate their free one month Amazon Prime trial. Gamers who pre-order more than titles a year will easily pay-off the $99 annual Amazon Prime subscription fee.
