Motorhead’s lead singer Ian Kiliminster, aka Lemmy, is back for one last hurrah in the form of a milk advert filmed just one month prior to his sudden death.

Finnish dairy firm Valio recruited the rock legend to star in their campaign just one month prior to his death and have now reworked the promotion to serve as a tribute to the star, who passed away on 28 December.

Marketing agency Hasan & Partners have overseen the production which sees Lemmy exiting a bar and stating ‘I have never drunk milk and never will’, before adding ‘you asshole’ with a smile.

A postscript reads: ‘Ian “Lemmy’ Kilmister 1945-2015”,“We raise our glasses to you”.

Commenting on the piece, Jussi Lindholm, chief operating officer of Hasan & Partners, said: “We were in the middle of post-production when the news about Lemmy broke. We are profoundly grateful to have worked with him and that Lemmy’s management feel good about the result. We discussed not airing the ad but had footage that was not part of the original script, which crystallised Lemmy’s spirit, so we agreed to change it and make a tribute.”

A funeral for Lemmy will be live streamed tomorrow (9 January).
