‘Just being white, you will win’ – Seoul Secret apologises for racist skin dye ad
A Thai beauty firm looking to shift skin-bleaching supplements has courted controversy with the launch of a racist ad equating being white to “winning”.
The campaign sees model Cris Horwang say "Just being white, you will win," as she looks to entice viewers with a skin-whitening cream.
Juxtoposing her "winning" is a despondent-looking digitally-blackfaced model. The product 'Snowz' promises to "help you not to return to being dark".
The company issued an apology for the slot after a sizeable backlash on social media accused it of racism.
