Kanye West has accused Nike of treating employees like slaves in a new track that sheds light on the rapper’s long-running feud with the sportswear business.

The song “Facts” sees West slam Nike’s new lifetime contract with NBA star LeBron James and then make a direct comparison to the way his current backer Adidas treats ambassadors. “Nike treat employees like slaves. Gave LeBron a [a billion] not to run away,” he claimed. “Adidas you know they love it.”

West’s resentment of Nike stems back to 2013 when he jumped ship to their rival after he claimed the business had failed to offer him better royalties on his Air Yeezy shoe. Since the split, which saw the “Goldigger” rapper walk away a reported $10m, West has criticised the way the firm value its creative partnerships.

The latest diss comes just months after hip-hop mogul and West’s friend Jay-Z went on a rant about Nike’s dominance of the commercial market.
