McDonald’s has recruited TV host James Corden to round off its festive ‘The Journey to Christmas’ campaign that see the comedian join people from across the nation in singing Wizzard christmas classic ‘I wish it could be Christmas everyday’ during their Christmas journeys.

The advert will air during the Christmas Day episode of Coronation Street - typically one of the most popular programmes in the UK on Christmas Day - screened on ITV, rounding off a campaign it initially launched last month.

The campaign features a young family singing the Christmas classic song by Wizzard on a long car journey before Christmas day. The campaign encourages people viewers to “embrace the festive spirit”, and film themselves singing along to the Christmas song while on their journeys.

The campaign was created in partnership with Leo Burnett London, OMD UK and Razorfish and directed by James Rouse.

Darren Keff & Phillip Meyler, the creative team behind the campaign at Leo Burnett London said: “It takes a brave client to put a 90 second Christmas Day ad in the hands of the great British public. It's safe to say it's been quite a journey.”
