VimpelCom appoint Dentsu Aegis Network and Starcom Mediavest Group in globalization drive

VimpelCom has announced the appointment of Dentsu Aegis Network and Starcom Mediavest Group to manage its global media planning and buying.

The move has been designed to help the telecommunications company’s transformation to globalize its operations as it looks to significantly improve its operational efficiencies and reduce its cost base.

From 1 January 2016 Dentsu Aegis Network and Starcom Mediavest will take over media planning, management and buying for the Amsterdam-based company. The two media agencies will cover Russia, Italy, Ukraine, Pakistan, Kazakhstan, Uzbekistan, Bangladesh, Kyrgyzstan, Tajikistan, Armenia, and Georgia, covering its consumer brands Beeline, Wind, Kyivstar, Banglalink and Mobilink.

Chief communications and brand officer at VimpelCom, Rozzyn Boy, said: “After a robust review of potential agency networks across our footprint, we are pleased to welcome Dentsu Aegis Network and Starcom Mediavest Group as our strategic media planning and buying partners for the VimpelCom Group.”

Throughout the various regions it operates within VimpelCom uses a number of different brand names brand names including Beeline, Kyivstar, WIND, Mobilink, banglalink, Telecel, and Djezzy.
