Gyro London spreads Christmas cheer to the homeless with ‘joy in a packet’
Gyro London is supporting the homeless this Christmas with its ‘joy in a packet’ initiative to issue parcels of seasonal goodies to people who find themselves on the streets.
In partnership with Whitechapel Mission the agency will dish out parcels of hats, gloves, socks, toothpaste and toothbrushes, a notebook and pen, nutritious snacks, and a Christmas card together with a stamped envelope to help stay in touch with family or a friend.
David Harris, Executive Creative Director, gyro, says: “It’s not about making a big fuss about giving them food or blankets etc. – there are groups out there that already do that, and brilliantly. It’s about helping people who need a helping hand, making them feel cared for and ready to face another day. That’s why we got together with the Whitechapel Mission. We asked them what we could do to really make a difference and they gave us a list of things they need.”
Each parcel will be handed out on Christmas Eve with the agency creating a film to help raise public awareness of the charity and its mission.
