Twitter’s vice president of design, Mike Davidson, has announced he is to quit the micro-blogging platform in February, sparking a head hunt to find a suitable replacement.

Davidson has overseen Twitter’s design team since being hired back in 2012, taking a lead role on projects such as Moments which launched just last month.

No rationale has been given for the departure which comes hot on the heels of CEO Jack Dorsey’s return to the hot seat at the social network.

Twitter is now actively seeking to recruit a new vice president of communications, head of corporate development and chief marketing officer following a spate of recent departures.
