Walmart

Walmart's US chief marketing officer Stephen Quinn is to retire in January after more than 10 years with the firm.

In light of the move, the retailer has announced that former Target marketing executive, Michael Francis, will join as a consultant at the start of 2016.

Most recently chief global brand officer at Dreamworks, Francis served at Walmart's rival for 26 years, and has also held the post of president at JCPenney.

The Lad Bible Group

Former Mecom, Endemol and Disney senior executive, Tom Toumazis is to join The Lad Bible Group board as a non-executive director.

Most recently at Yahoo as head of partnerships EMEA, Toumazis will work closely with chief executive Solly Solomou and the publisher's management team to develop the business further with a particular focus on commercial growth, content development and international expansion.

The firm has also brought on board Jonathan Durden, formerly president and co-founder of global agency PHD, as a senior advisor and hired tech investment bank GP Bullhound as corporate advisor.

AOP

Richard Reeves is to join the UK Association of Online Publishers (AOP) as managing director.

He will be tasked with raising the profile of industry issues and exploring potential partnerships with fellow international publishing member organisations.

Joining from his consultancy business DigiVibe Media, Reeves has worked in the industry for over 30 years, holding senior roles at international brands including Centaur Communications, Dennis Publishing, News International, and the FT.

Newsquest

Managing director of Newsquest Scotland Tim Blott is stepping down after announcing his retirement.

Blott, who joined the company in 1975 as a trainee reporter, will leave Newsquest Scotland at the end of the year, ending a 40 year career in the newspaper industry.

He will be replaced by Graham Morrison, the managing director of Newsquest Clyde & Forth, which publishes the Greenock Telegraph, Clydebank Post and Alloa Advertiser.

RKCY/Y&R

RKCY/Y&R has named chief innovation officer Jon Sharpe (pictured) to replace Ben Kay as chief executive as the agency executive moves to WPP to take on the global role of planning director.

Sharpe’s promotion signals a shift in focus for the agency, which now make innovation a more integral part of its creative output. He will report into RKCR/Y&R chairman Mark Roalfe and Andrew Dimitriou, president of Y&R Europe.

McCann HumanCare

McCann HumanCare, the agency’s consumer health and wellness unit, has brought on Frank Mazzola to serve in the new position of executive vice president group creative director.

Mazzola previously served in the same role at healthcare agency GSW. He began his career at what is now FCB Health.

He will report to Augé Reichenberg, executive vice president-executive creative director at McCann HumanCare. The agency’s clients include Bausch & Lomb, Novartis and Bayer.

Smith & Milton

Howard Milton and Jay Smith, together with the recently appointed group creative director Rob Wade, are heading the new management team at the brand consultancy they set up in 1980.

Milton and Smith will reshape the business, working in the group’s offices across London and Bristol.

The move comes as Milton appoints two new creative heads to reinforce the Smith & Milton team: Rob Wade joined last month as group creative director, while Keshi Bouri joins this month to lead as creative director of the Bristol business.

The Moment

Matthew Weiner has been appointed as a senior strategist by the international creative content company The Moment.

He joins a growing content strategy team led by Sandra Peat.

A former journalist and editor for The Times, FourFourTwo, Goal and CNN, Weiner arrives from digital agency Dare, where he devised content strategies and led a team of content creators working with Barclays, Barclaycard, BMW, Nike Football and Huawei.

Ketchum

Ketchum London has brought in Andrew Ferguson, most recently creative director at Unity.

He was as a director at Unity since 2010 and had been responsible for the creative development of the agency’s work.

At Ketchum, Ferguson will apply the know-how he has gained whilst working for a diverse array of below the line agencies over his 14-year career, which has covered consumer sectors from high fashion to gaming software design, art, luxury goods, electronics and tourism.
