‘The Girl on the Train’ tops Amazon bestseller list

Amazon has named ‘The Girl on the Train’, a debut thriller by Paula Hawkins, as its best-selling book of 2015, with the title topping its Kindle sales chart and heading up a ‘most wished for’ section.

The world’s largest bookseller put the work, which describes the journey of an alcoholic woman struggling to remember a crime, at the number one spot – ahead of better known works such as ‘Fifty Shades of Grey as Told by Christian’ by E.L. James at number two and Harper Lee’s ‘Go Set a Watchman’ which ranked third.

This latter title was actually Amazon’s best-selling printed book although its digital sales lagged.
