Toronto fashion brand launches new range on Google Street View
Since its introduction in 2012 Google Street View’s ‘See Inside Tour’ has offered virtual reality tours from places ranging restaurants to the Whitehouse and now clothing brand Onemeth has made history by unveiling its new seasonal clothing range using the service.
It marks the first time that the function has been used by a fashion label to reveal a new product and will allow the Toronto-based streetwear brand to promote its Fall/Winter 2015 lookbook in a unique way.
The new collection of nine items, which was created in collaboration with Canadian streetwear brand Fade, was captured in the Onemeth design studio using by Virtuo360, a global Street View trusted agency that specializes in virtual tours.
Using the navigation tool users can traverse the studio where they will find eight different models wearing pieces from the new line.
Max Sawka, associate creative director of Onemeth said: “We’ve seen many great brands experiment and evolve the actual content of fashion lookbooks, but we haven’t really seen too many challenge the format.
“When we landed on Google Street View as a new way to introduce our line, everything clicked."
He added: “It offers viewers an incredible virtual experience with the clothing, like you can almost grab the gear.”
Google’s ‘See Inside Tour’ has proven successful for many business, especially hotels. The online firm claimed that of those who view a listing with a virtual tour are twice as likely to be interested in booking a reservation there, especially amongst 18-34 year-olds who are 130 per cent more likely. Whether the service can be as successful with other businesses remains to be seen
