Advertising agency S3 Advertising has appointed Ben Armstrong to head up its new web development department.

S3 Advertising's new head of web development Ben Armstrong.

Armstrong joins S3 as head of web design and development and will manage a team of ten specialist staff, including business development personnel, business analysts, UI designers, UX specialists and back and front end developers. The new in-house department will focus on high-end web and app development and is already in talks with a number of existing and new clients.

Prior to joining S3, Armstrong spent ten years at Cardiff University where he was senior web designer.

S3 chief executive officer Matt Jones said: “Ben is a very talented individual with an incredible flair for design and I’m thrilled to welcome him to S3. I decided to launch this new department in response to our clients’ needs. It is an area that we are already working in as we have been designing websites for several years but have regularly outsourced the development work. We are now able to bring this in-house and are able to deliver an even more efficient service for our clients.”

Armstrong said of his appointment: “I am really excited to be working with Matt and the talented team at S3 to develop this new department in this fast paced, dynamic and highly successful young company.”

S3 Advertising specialises in creative media buying and planning, social media and digital deliverables and strategy, with current clients including NFU, Hosta Meltis and Trade Centre Wales. S3 was recently ranked the number one UK media agency in its class for client satisfaction in The Drum’s annual Digital Census.
