Adidas has launched a new ad campaign for the release of its Euro 2016 Germany kit.

A minute long video titled ‘Our Pitch Our Rules’ promotes the new kits that will be used by the World Cup winners in France next summer for the UEFA Euro 2016 tournament.

The ad stars many of the national squad players including Manuel Neuer, Mesut Özil, Bastian Schweinsteiger and Thomas Müller. It promotes the dominance of the 2014 World Cup winners with a German narrator saying “we control the play, the score and the spotlight…this white line is what separates you and world champions, a whole nation of us”.

The kit itself is made up of a simple white top and black shorts, creating a vintage look. The white top features a new positioning for the iconic three stripes with them running down the lower sides of the top as opposed to the upper sleeves.

The brand’s longstanding association with football recently came under criticism after it did not join other companies in calling for the immediate departure of FIFA President Sepp Blatter when Swiss authorities launched a criminal investigation into him over allegations of corruption. Adidas boss, Herbert Hainer, said strong sales of its soccer products showed that Fifa’s wrongdoing had not tainted the sports brand in any way.

The official German home and away kits were shown off for the first time at an Adidas event in Paris where Zinedine Zidane also unveiled the official match ball for the tournament which is being promoted with #BeTheDifference.

The campaign was created by Iris Worldwide.
