Carphone Warehouse has turned to Keith Lemon for its Christmas ad campaign, ignoring the usual snowy forest in favour of Australia.

The third release of its “Super Mega Personalised” campaign, the creative sees Lemon narrate the various problems locals have with their data connection.

Julian Diment, chief marketing officer at Carphone Warehouse, said of the campaign: “There’s nothing wrong with cutesy snowmen and Santas in Christmas ads, but we thought we’d try something different. Keith Lemon in the outback – it’s as wrong as being on the wrong phone deal.”

Created by Brothers and Sisters, executive creative director, Andy Fowler, added: “If I have to watch another ad romancing the depressing truth about the British white Christmas I will scream. Thank God then for Keith Lemon and his new buddies doing Xmas in the Aussie outback with a giant spider, a ute - and no cranberry sauce in sight.”

The ad will debut next week on Thursday 19 November during 'I'm a Celebrity...' on ITV.
