Asos partners with PayPal to engage student market

The pair have teamed up to 'create a sense of connection and empowerment' with students

Global retailer Asos has announced a brand partnership with PayPal to improve its student proposition.

Launching with a website written by students for students dubbed Asos On Campus, the pairing will see the online payments system work with the store to "deliver an innovative, mobile-first experience" for young audiences.

The drive will build upon the discount Asos already offers to those studying and the retailer says it wants to enhance the student experience through fully integrated content and exclusive offers for subscribers.

Asos launched a call for student editors for the platform earlier this year through a unique application process which asked candidates to describe themselves in a single tweet and upload three street-style fashion images.

“Asos is a brand that resonates with PayPal customers globally", said Alison Sagar, senior director of UK marketing at PayPal.

"This marketing partnership cuts across owned, digital and social channels and leverages unique content created through the Asos student editors’ programme that brings the best of the two brands to life.”
