Mashable India will translate a familiar diet of digital and technology news for the local market, benefitting from the established reach of India.com.

The new division will have a dedicated editorial team based in Mumbai and New Delhi tasked with delivering localised editorial content, augmenting the global stories produced by Mashable.com.

Pete Cashmore, founder and CEO of Mashable, said: “As a truly global media company, Mashable is very excited to be launching Mashable India, in partnership with the incredibly talented team at India.com, to better serve both our community and brand partners in India. With technology and digital changing almost every aspect of our world, now could not be a better time to expand to one of the most diverse and unique areas of the world, India.”

Over the past year Mashable has launched dedicated platforms in the UK, Australia and Asia.
