US Army’s Educational Outreach Program chooses Widmeyer to revamp marketing and comms

The US Army’s Educational Outreach Program (AEOP), which provides students and teachers with Army-sponsored science, technology, engineering, and math (STEM) programs, has chosen Finn Partners’ Widmeyer Communications to revamp its communications and marketing as the organizaiton expands.

The $185m AEOP expansion effort will take place over the next 10 years. According to AEOP, its services currently reach 35,000 students and teachers across the US. By 2025, it hopes to nearly double its reach.

Widmeyer Communications specializes in public policy issues, specifically in the fields of education, health care, and the economy. It has worked with organizations including The US Consumer Product Safety Commission, the Western Environmental Law Center, and The American Energy Innovation Council.

Jason Smith, managing partner, Finn Partners, said: "Our deep expertise in education communications, and particularly in STEM, make us a great fit for this effort.”

The assignment will be managed from the agency’s New York office and will include strategic communications and partnerships, marketing and media relations, social media integration, community management, digital research and brand management.
