Ahead of Halloween 2015, the smart remote technology company Peel looked at the most popular scary movies on TV. Popularity doesn’t necessarily equate to being critically acclaimed, but Peel measured whether at least half of viewers remained tuned in beyond 60 minutes in prior viewings.

Hotel Transylvania (FXX) has a mere 44 per cent on Rotten Tomatoes, but 66.7 per cent of viewers are remaining tuned in after one hour, topping the list. Rounding out the top three are Halloween (AMC, IFC) and Underworld (Syfy).

Earlier this Fall, Peel used a similar methodology to predict which new TV shows would survive the season.
