Digital news and entertainment publisher TheLADbible has named Vice Media’s Ian Moore as content director, a role which will entail responsibility for all editorial content including video production across its TheLADbible, TheSPORTbible and TheODDSbible domains.

Vice Media, LADbible

Moore is currently deputy managing editor for VICE.com, a role which sees him manage editorial and video output across 20 VICE Media businesses, having previously served as editor-in-chief of VICE Denmark.

Solly Solomou, CEO and founder of TheLADbible, said: “Ian’s understanding of our audience and his track record of hard-hitting journalism will take us to the next chapter in our evolution. We have done a lot of work recently to optimise our tech platform, data insights, rights management and production facilities - including building studios in London and Manchester – so I know the business is primed to support Ian’s ambition and vision in every way we can.”

Moore commented: “I have had a brilliant period at VICE and I really wasn’t looking to leave. But after meeting Solly I realised there is a huge opportunity to really ramp-up the original story-telling power of one of the most powerful and exciting brands in UK media.

“I will be looking to expand written editorial, short-form video, long-form video and live broadcasts, and will be working out how we can use all these opportunities to tell a whole range of stories that are relevant to our audience that break new ground.”

Moore rose to prominence through feature investigations into Syrian jihadists living in Denmark as well as right-wing extremists, drug use and the lives of Danish Jewish settlers living in the West Bank.
