Labour appoints Seumas Milne as executive director of strategy and communications
The Labour party has appointed Guardian columnist and executive editor Seumas Milne as executive director of strategy and communications, with effect from 26 October.
A former comment and labour editor at the Guardian, Milne has previously worked for the Economist and is the author of several books; including titles pertaining to the miners’ strike, international politics and economic policy.

Milne also served as an executive member of the National Union of Journalists for 10 years.
