Zonzia, an over the top service found in Hiltons, Ritz-Carltons, and Marriotts, and in 27 million homes across Dish, Verizon, and Comcast, has chosen Kaltura’s OTT TV product to power its service.

Kaltura’s OTT TV, which we wrote about in September, is an out-of-the-box (yet also customizable) solution for content creators and distributors to easily create and monetize OTT channels.

Zonzia plans to use OTT TV to leverage a range of monetization methods from server-side and native ad insertion, in-app purchases, a range of payment options, and discounts for introducing friends. From a personalization standpoint, Zonzia will allow users to set up individual profiles, and Kaltura’s technology will help tailor the experience to them.

“New OTT services are being introduced to consumers at an increasingly rapid pace, and content owners, digital publishers, operators and media companies need to jump on the OTT bandwagon quickly, to ensure they are meeting the expectations of today’s viewers who want live and on-demand content at any given moment, on every device,” said Ron Yekutiel, Kaltura Chairman, Co-founder and CEO. “Zonzia Media is a great example of a next generation media company, and we are delighted to be working together.”

By allowing each viewer in the household to set up an individual profile, Kaltura OTT TV will deliver each viewer a personalized experience, which will increase Zonzia’s subscriber engagement. This will give Zonzia tremendous insight and understanding of their subscribers’ unique behavior allowing Zonzia to continually strengthen loyalty and maximize revenues.

“Launching our OTT TV service is the natural next step for our unique multifaceted digital strategy,” said Johnathan Adair, COO at Zonzia Media. “When looking at the options of build versus buy, and the range of providers in the market, Kaltura was the clear choice due to its broad feature set, fast time to market, and deep expertise.”
