Friday's event will bring together creative minds, media owners and innovators to explore how technology is transforming lives and how consumers interact with brands.

Cregan is expected to speak about transformation in marketing and the ideas behind the creation of his business which he set up with the help of his sister in 2011 before launching in Selfridges.

Speaking ahead of the conference, Cregan said he was “really excited about getting on stage at the DigitasLBi UK NewFront to talk about the journey we’ve been on and the way in which we’re transforming traditional FMCG marketing”.

He added that his company had aimed for “complete transparency and openness with our customers” by using social media to interact with them in order to grow and receive feedback.

Gareth Jones, chief brand and content officer at DigitasLBi, said: "The DigitasLBi NewFront is all about brave and experimental approaches to content creation, which is why we were so keen to involve a genuine marketing maverick like Jimmy. He rounds off a unique and inspirational line up of speakers handpicked to help brands think differently.”

Cregan will be joined at the second annual NewFront conference by professor Hugh Herr PhD, head of the biomechatronics research group at MIT Media Lab; NASA astronaut and US Navy Commander Reid Wiseman; DJ, TV presenter and founder of The Pool, Lauren Laverne; Wired UK contributing editor Ben Hammersley; and Mumsnet founder and CEO Justine Roberts,

The event will take place on 16 October at Brick Lane Backyard Market.
