A few years ago Thor Friðriksson, the founder and CEO of the wildly popular QuizUp app (that let’s you play trivia with friends or people with similar interests), almost went bankrupt. In that moment of distress him and his team came up with the idea for QuizUp that’s now one of the world’s most popular apps. His team always had the idea in the back of their minds to create a TV show around the app’s concept, having been fans of game shows growing up.

Then NBCUniversal International Formats knocked on their door. QuizUp is one of MIPCOM’s most exciting formats this year and is already set to air on NBC in the US and ITV in the UK in 2016. Found Remote interviewed Fredriksson at Applicaster’s booth at MIPCOM. See above for the full interview.
