Hootsuite appoints Penny Wilson to first CMO role

Hoosuite has created its first ever chief marketing officer role and appointed Penny Wilson to take it up.

Wilson, who joins from Juniper Networks where she worked in the same role, will lead Hootsuite’s global marketing organisation and help drive the growth of its customer base, which currently stands at more than ten million users.

Prior to Juniper Networks Wilson also served as CMO at Macromedia where she led the company’s worldwide marketing efforts up to and through its $3.4bn acquisition by Adobe Systems.

Wilson will report to Hootsuite CEO Ryan Holmes who said of her appointment: “We are pleased to have Penny join the Hootsuite team and lead our global marketing organization. Hootsuite has a unique history of amazing marketing and brand campaigns and we’re excited to have Penny share her enterprise experience and help propel us to the next level."

She will be based at the company’s headquarters in Vancouver.
