Cartoon Network to launch Anything mobile app
Cartoon Network is to roll out a free mobile app for European iOS and Android users at the end of the month, designed to offer snippets of content tailored specifically for mobile and tablets, following its successful launch in the US.
Cartoon Network Anything will offer games, activities, trivia and clips in bite-size chunks of up to 15 seconds duration with user’s able to swipe through randomised content on their screens related to broadcast programming schedules.
Patricia Hidalgo, SVP and chief content officer, remarked: “Cartoon Network Anything is an innovative way to reinterpret what it means to be a ‘network’ on various platforms.
“The small screen was the focus from the beginning, both with regards to the content itself and its delivery method – and the result is an experience that feels entirely natural to the medium, to fans of our channel and Cartoon Network as a whole.”
Amongst the content to be given an airing will be Mighty Magiswords, a trial digital-first series, with the platform also serving as a home for sponsored content and native advertising.
