Paddy Power’s latest billboard ad has taken aim at Liverpool boss Brendan Rodgers with a quip relating to club’s captain Jordan Henderson featuring on the front cover of popular video game Fifa 16.

The ad, created by Lucky Generals, shows the under fire Liverpool manager with a perplexed expression on his face and this hands raised in confusion alongside the headline “Hendo's on the cover of FIFA 16. What more do you want?"

The Fifa game franchise is known for featuring the world’s top stars on its cover such as Lionel Messi and Cristiano Ronaldo and so the announcement that midfielder Jordan Henderson would feature alongside Messi left many fans of the series surprised. The Liverpool captain was voted to appear on the cover of the game by fans of the FIFA series.

Focusing on the Northern Irish gaffer’s troubled start to the new football season, the ad also plays on lack of prospective success attached to the club this season and mounting calls for Rodger’s dismissal in favour of the likes of former Borussia Dortmund manager Jurgen Klopp.

Paddy Power said “it’s been a tough week for Brendan so hopefully our ad squeezes a cheeky smile out of the Liverpool boss – and if, heaven forbid, he does get the boot then at least he has a chance of winning with Liverpool playing FIFA.”
