Infographic: Streaming services continue to crash the Emmy party

Emmy nominations were once reserved for network TV, cable TV, and PBS. Then HBO (and Showtime) came along. Now, Netflix and Amazon have a seat at the table.

Netflix is nominated for 34 Emmys this year (for 10 different programs), while Amazon is nominated for 12 Emmys – a record number for streaming services that will likely be broken each year moving forward.

In 2013, Netflix was nominated for just 14 Emmys.

Moviepilot, a fan-driven entertainment site, looked at this year’s Emmy nominations to see how much TV has changed in the past five years. Below, an infographic highlighting the rapid growth of streaming services:
