Instagram is embracing Apple’s ‘3D Touch’ display on the iPhone 6S and 6Plus as part of a drive to make its app even more attractive to marketers as it expands its advertising offer to a host of new countries this month.

The new system enables users to interact with their handsets using three degrees of force, opening up access to shortcuts and enabling the user interface to be streamlined.

The Facebook owned service is amongst the first to take advantage of the feature as it seeks to turbo charge its roll out of its ad service to more than 30 countries, as well as companies, from Wednesday.

Other features to be embraced by the photography app include 30-second video ads, new action buttons such as ‘Install Now’, ‘Sign Up’ and ‘Shop Now’.

In a statement Instagram said: “We’re thrilled to make it easier for businesses of all sizes to reach people with more relevant ads on Instagram,” the company said in its post. “We will continue to improve the feedback mechanisms within Instagram to give people greater control and improve the relevance of the ads they see.”

In tandem with Instagram Facebook has also updated WhatsApp to take advantage of 3D Touch.
