Out-of-Home communications agency Posterscope has appointed Stephen Whyte as its new UK chief executive.

Current chief executive, Annie Rickard, takes up the role of UK chairman where she will focus on international growth across psLive and Posterscope Worldwide.

Whyte, who isn’t expected to start in his new role until early November, is coming from Netventure Consulting, a company he launched four years ago to provide strategic and commercial advice to digital media, marketing and adtech businesses.

He admitted that he ”wasn’t looking for a change” but that the opportunity to lead Posterscope at such an exciting time for the OOH industry was “impossible to turn down”.

Whyte brings with him years of experience in advertising and marketing services with his time at AMV, Leagas Delaney, Still Price Lintas and GGT. He has served as chief executive of a number of advertising companies including Leo Burnett before spending 5 years as chief executive of McCann Erickson.

He later entered the data services sector in 2009 when he joined Acxiom, one of the largest global players in the sector, as chief executive Europe.

Following the announcement of his appointment, current chief executive Rickard said she was “delighted” that Whyte had joined the company. She added that he had the “experience and vision required to lead the business into the future.”
