Hungarian camerawoman fired for tripping and kicking fleeing migrants
A camera operator for a Hungarian internet television channel associated with Hungary’s far-right Jobbik party has been fired after footage of her kicking and tripping migrants spread across social media.
The camerawoman, who has been identified as Petra Laszlo by the Hungarian news site 444.hu, was captured on video tripping a man who was holding a young child as he fled from police at a makeshift relocation camp in Roszke, a few hundred yards from the Serbian border.

Other shocking images soon also appeared online showing her kicking a young child. Her employer, N1TV, released a brief statement saying that she had “behaved in an unacceptable manner” and had been fired.

The incident happened as hundreds of Syrians, Iraqis and Afghans burst through police lines after becoming frustrated with the conditions. Laszlo’s footage was edited to cover up the fact that she had tripped the man carrying a child however other broadcasters including RTL were recording and the footage was widely shared online.
