Parks and Recreation’s Rashida Jones stars the latest installment of ‘California Inspires Me,’ an animated video series that features different musicians and actors as they discuss how the state of California has inspired them.

The series is part of an ongoing partnership between Google Play and Pop-up Magazine’s publication California Sunday. Created in collaboration with BBH LA, the videos have featured musician Reggie Watts, Sonic Youth singer Kim Gordon, and founding member of the Beach Boys Brian Wilson in the past.

In the video, Jones discusses growing up in LA in the 1970’s being the daughter of actress Peggy Lipton and record producer Quincy Jones and how her house was always filled with artists, directors, writers, actors and musicians.

She also talks about being “a little chubby and a little awkward” as a kid and how she “owned a computer before it was cool to own a computer.”

At the end, she points out the differences between Northern and Southern California and says that she loves them both for such different reasons.
