Snapchat snaps up Facebook’s Anthony Pompliano in fresh growth drive
Messaging service Snapchat has recruited former Facebook product manager Anthony Pompliano to lead its own growth and engagement team.
Announcing his appointment in a tweet Pompliano will report directly to Brian Theisen and will be tasked with differentiating strategy in different regions to maximise growth.
The appointment comes as Snapchat continues to go from strength to strength, racking up a $20bn valuation and introducing a suite of new tools; including the ability to add friends by scanning QR codes.
Just last month the service introduced a ’travel mode’ that saves bandwidth by not loading pictures automatically but instead requiring a manual tap to view, negating the need to load every snap in a oner.
