People on the move: Hires and departures at PicsArt, TBWA, DigitasLBi and more

This week has seen another wave of appointments and departures at brands, media owners and agencies. The Drum has rounded up the key hires below.

PicsArt

Former Facebook and Instagram brand strategist, Eric Edge, has joined photo sharing app, PicsArt, as its vice president of marketing. PicsArt, which is emerging as a strong rival to Instagram, currently has a monthly user base 65 million and is now focusing on attracting brands and advertisers onto its platform.

TBWA Worldwide

TBWA Worldwide has enlisted Kyla Jacobs in this newly created role of global business development director.

Working with key leaders across the TBWA global network, Jacobs is tasked with growing the business and promoting its newest services.

On top of the new role however she will retain the director of business development role and executive leadership team membership for TBWA\Chiat\Day New York.

DigitasLBi

Global marketing and tech agency DigitasLBi has promoted Nic Howell to head up its creative strategy department.

His promotion follows the announcement that former head of creative strategy, Ed Beard, is to join DigitasLBi-owned Kitcatt Nohr as chief strategy officer .

McCann

Chief executive of McCann Worldgroup-China Jesse Lin will now also take on the role of vice chairman for the ad network’s Asia Pacific region.

He has also been promoted to chairman of MRM/McCann Asia Pacific.

Say Media

Say Media's Jennifer Catto has left for rival Evolve Media as senior vice president of integrated marketing.

Formerly serving as vice president, head of branded entertainment and partnerships at Say Media, Catto will now oversee marketing strategy and research initiatives across Evolve’s three major publishing divisions, CraveOnline and TotallyHer, and Martini Media,acquired in July.

We Are Social

We Are Social, the global social media agency, has named Rob FitzGerald, president of Big Fuel Communications, as its president in the US.

FitzGerald will take over the running of the US division of the agency from managing director Leila Thabet who launched it in 2012.

iCrossing

Mark Iremonger has been appointed chief executive of iCrossing UK, replacing Paul Doleman who is leaving the company to pursue interests outside of the agency space.

Iremonger joined the digital shop as chief strategy officer three years ago from ProximityBBDO, where he was head of digital and planning. In his new role he will report to chief executive and president of Hearst Magazines, Nick Brien.

Carat

James Harris is to join Carat in the role of chief digital officer for global clients.

No stranger to Carat and the Dentsu Aegis Network, Harris previously worked at Carat. He was also a founder of both Diffiniti, the digital specialist agency which later became iProspect, and, subsequently, Aegis Media Labs, a specialist digital division within Aegis Media.

Founded

Founded, the London based creative agency, has announced the appointment of Mat O’Brien as creative director.

O’Brien has over 10 years’ experience in creating integrated global campaigns having worked for Space, Initials Marketing and The Bank.

In his new role at Founded, he will report into Ross Garden, creative partner, and provide creative direction across the agency’s roster of clients including P&O Cruises, HSS Hire and Uniqlo.

Bluemarlin

Global brand design consultancy bluemarlin has appointed Sally O’Rourke as chief operating officer to its group board of directors.

She joins bluemarlin with 20 years’ experience in senior roles throughout the creative, media and innovation sectors and will now be responsible for driving operational excellence of all business units.

The Delta Group

The Delta Group has hired Steve Williams as group sales director.

Williams, who joins following three years at Communisis Plc, will be responsible for driving new business across the group and establishing new relationships within the market.

He has held a variety of roles and responsibilities at Communisis Plc.; joining as sales director in 2012 and serving as cross media sales director, client services director and business development director.

Wasserman Experience

Brand experience agency Wasserman Experience has announced the appointment of former Ogilvy and Mater delivery director, Paul Donohue as its new head of digital and technology.

Donohue will be responsible for continuing to drive digital and technology through everything the agency delivers, ensuring that it remains a key offering to enhancing the activation, and pushing the boundaries of live experiences for its clients.

IPG Mediabrands

Media auditor, Charles Godbold, as is to join IPG Mediabrands as global director.

Godbold has an impressive track record in media and in his new role he will leverage on his many years of media experience to roll out the innovative benchmarking software he has developed for media rates across Mediabrands’ systems.

Evolve Media LLC

Evolve Media LLC has appointed Jennifer Catto as senior vice-president of integrated marketing.

Based out of the company’s New York office, Catto will oversee marketing strategy and research initiatives across the company’s three premiere publishing divisions, CraveOnline and TotallyHer, and the recently acquired Martini Media.

Throughout her 15+ years in the digital industry, she has led teams across integrated marketing, digital video production, branded content, and sales operations.

Adikteev

Advertising specialists Adikteev is targeting UK budgets after setting up its London office with the appointments of Will Jones as sales director from CBS Interactive and Maya Tank as sales manager from Selective Media.

Jones ran the consumer sales team at CBS Interactive for the last two years, while Tank was agency sales manager at Selective Media for a year.

Both report to managing director Juliette Pasquet, who leads the UK team and joins from the Guardian where she was digital sales manager.

Realeyes

Analytics platform Realeyes has hired US government data scientist Jeff Ryan to lead its data science team. He will steer the unit’s various projects, while also identifying more ways to integrate data science into the company’s wider offering.

At the SEC – the US government’s financial regulation agency – he formed and led he data science team that used machine-learning techniques to calculate and assess the risks for some of the world’s most sophisticated hedge funds.
