Munchery and Google Play look to match music and cooking in soundtrack experience
Meal delivery firm Munchery and Google play have entered a unique partnership ensuring chefs prepare meals based on playlists curated by the e-store.
The offering, from Google agency of record Essence, in partnership with Munchery will see the firms marry culinary and musical mediums in a campaign running 17 August to 11 September.
Diners will be offered a unique dining and listening experience in New York, Seattle, San Francisco and Los Angeles as part of the deal.
Nicolas Bernadi, Munchery vice president of food, said: “Taste and sound both have a special way of bringing people together, so it felt natural to connect them in one simple, fun experience.
“We want people to be excited about mealtime – everything from our locally-sourced ingredients to the mood, soundtrack and environment.”
Zena Arnold, head of Americas marketing at Google Play, added: “Turning a great menu into a great moment is all about what you pair with it – the drinks, your friends and especially the music.
"Google Play Music and Munchery together bring the best food and the best music to make your dining experience perfect.”
The menu is as follows:
• “Coffee Shop Indie Radio” – Beef bourguignon, charcuterie plate, chocolate cake
• “Classic Rock Summer” – Chimichurri chicken, baby back ribs and BBQ beans, spicy tuna salad, ginger steak with quinoa and kale, maple candied bacon bun
• “Family Car Ride Karaoke” – Whole chicken for two, family-size kale salad
• “Happy Hour Country Radio” – Mac and cheese, fried chicken, ceviche and burrata
• “Ladies of Summer” – Cheese and charcuterie plate, fruit and nut plate, chocolate dessert
• “Salsa Romántica” – Paella, ceviche, molten chocolate cake
• “Sun Out, Vibe Out” – Brooklyn sushi roll, Brooklyn lager braised sausage, No Sleep til Brooklyn bar
