The stunt is part of president and publishing director Michael Clinton’s attempt to bolster Hearst’s consumer marketing efforts.

Other initiatives include in-store mobile beacons at Barnes & Noble that will send push notifications to a woman’s mobile device to let her know that Elle’s 30th Anniversary issue has arrived.

The truck will be stationed outside of the Apple Store on 5th Avenue on Friday 14 August. Over the weekend, it will travel to Jones Beach and Seaside Heights in New Jersey before returning to Manhattan on Monday.

Besides selling magazines, the trucks is also handing out beauty samples and gift cards.
