While Under Armour has been a league partner since 2011, this marketing and merchandising agreement significantly expands the relationship between the two. The sports company is also helping the league launch an ‘NBA FIT’ mobile application that will include training tips, fitness content, and access to Under Armour’s connected fitness platform ‘UA Record.’

Beginning in 2018, the Baltimore-based brand will become the outfitter of and will develop a retail of clothing for the NBA Draft Combine.

It will also serve as presenting partner of the league’s youth basketball program Jr. NBA starting this October.

Adam Peake, executive vice president of global marketing at Under Armour, said: “We’re proud to expand our partnership with the NBA and continue our shared commitment to help basketball players everywhere realize their potential, on and off the court.”

Through their current partnership, Under Armour will continue to promote NBA athletes including 2014-2015 Kia NBA MVP Stephen Curry in its campaigns, brand advertising, and social media channels.

Earlier this year, Nike replaced Adidas as the NBA’s on-court apparel provider and will be the first to have its logo on player uniforms.
