YouTube daredevil regrets London Tower Bridge dive after near-death experience
YouTube vlogger Shinwari has announced he is lucky to be alive after a dive into the Thames from London Tower Bridge nearly killed him.
Speaking to his 30,000 subscribers, the 17 year-old encouraged others not to do stupid things to get famous on the internet after the dare forced medical service and life guard intervention, rescuing and treating the youth.
Tony Wafer, community safety manager of the Royal National Lifeboat Institution (RNLI) which rescued the man, said: "As a lifesaving organisation that works on the Thames, we are extremely disappointed that this young man chose to risk his life in this way.He was extremely lucky that the outcome wasn't more serious.
"We're glad that this young man regrets his actions, however we would strongly discourage anyone from doing anything like this."
Shinwari of course posted the video, but warned others not to copy it, he said: "It originally was a dare from one of my subscribers, and I attempted it as I like doing crazy shit. This was later very regretted by me and as I realised it was the stupidest idea ever."
The jump floundered and the Youtuber was taken by a stronger than expected current, resulting in him nearly drowing, he added that he also need treatement for infection.
This was my stupidest video idea to date and it will never happen again, I promise.
