Twitter clamps down on customisation by removing user backgrounds
Twitter has removed customised wallpapers from the pages of its users in a raft of changes to its customisation options.
As a result of the move, user-uploaded profile wallpapers were replaced with a generic white background. An exception being, backgrounds still appear when individual tweets are opened.
A Twitter spokesperson told Mashable, which first reported the change: “We’re removing background images from the home and notifications timelines on web for all users.
“Now, background images are only available where logged-in users will see them publicly (Tweet pages, list pages and collections pages).”
