Doctor Christian Jessen, the host of Channel 4’s candid health show ‘Embarrassing Bodies’ has downplayed a report from the Daily Star that he was looking to meet and take drugs with a man he met on gay dating app Grindr.

Jessen, who regularly advises people on his show on a whole host of health issues, had his a single chat log leaked to the Star by the recipient. During the conversations, Jessen boasted that he was in possession of GHB, an illegal sedative, cannabis and mephedone.

Jessen also advised the man on methadone pricing: “No!! It should be 15 to 20 per gram. Not 80!! Don't get it."

Adding: “OK listen: I have some here that I know is good. So you don't need to get any."

The TV presenter passed off the chats as “horny talk” asserting that he and his partner will often have conversations with Grindr users on a “bored evening" with "no intention of meeting up”.

He told the Mail: “It is more an ego thing than anything else, could I get them or not? There is always talk of drugs, in London it is such a problem.”

The revelations could compromise Jessen’s position as a health advisor on the show, he said: “I've preached about the effects of drugs in the past and I certainly wouldn't want to give the wrong impression.

"It's been very embarrassing having these messages printed in a paper. It went too far and I feel very silly for doing it."

Channel 4 has not issued a statement on the claims but Jessen did tweet to address the claims.

He was also critical of the gentleman who sold the chat logs to the Mirror.
