Popchips picks Lucky Generals to guide brand overhaul
Californian snack brand Popchips has appointed Lucky Generals to its creative account ahead of a full brand relaunch.
Created in the US in 2007, the brand quickly attracted attention with celebrities including Katy Perry, Ashton Kutcher, David Ortiz and Sean Coombs all investing.
Riding on the success, and a mention in Forbes' 2011 list of the most promising businesess, it entered the UK market three years ago.
Since then, driving awareness has relied mainly on local print and outdoor advertising. Earlier this year it reworked a US ad and invested £1m bringing it to UK screens. However, it is now looking to widen its reach with a full brand relaunch planned to better target UK consumers.
Ruth Elliott, Popchips' European marketing manager, said: "Lucky Generals have really impressed us with their bold thinking and their modern creative approach. We have big plans and think they're the perfect partner to take popchips to the next level in the UK."
The win for Lucky Generals continues what has been a successful start to the year. In the past six months the independent agency has scooped the sought after Twitter creative account, was reappointed by Pot Noodle and won Hostelworld.com’s global branding and advertising brief. .
