When building a company from the ground up, founders are tasked with selecting the branding colouring to best represent their core values.

Brush Strokes Decorating has assembled an infographic delving into the psychology of colour in brands.

Blue was found to be the most popular colour among both genders. However, women most often listed purple as their favourite colour, while men often opted for bolder shades.

Yellow brands, such as McDonald’s and Ikea signified happiness whereas black is preserved for luxury firms, in particular Chanel, Louis Vuitton.
