Hershey names Peter Horst as new CMO

Chocolate giant Hershey, whose brands include Reese’s and Jolly Rancher, has hired Capital One’s Peter Horst to replace current chief marketing officer Mike Wege.

Horst previously served as senior-vice president of brand marketing at Capital One Financial Corporation. He has also held marketing roles at companies including General Mills and Ameritrade throughout his career.

Wege will now serve as senior vice president-chief administrative officer at Hershey, where he will lead the company’s global organizational and growth initiatives.

J.P. Bilbrey, chairman, president and chief executive of Hershey, said of Horst’s appointment: “Peter is a seasoned marketing leader who has the skills, experience and proven track record to continue to evolve our marketing organization, build our iconic brands and drive global growth for the company."

He will take on his new role on 27 July.
