Tinder has upped its game to now allow users to date (or suffer abject rejection from) celebrity users.

For the first time notable public figures, celebrities and athletes using the service will be verified so swipers know the famous names are the real deal.

In a similar fashion to verified accounts on Facebook and Twitter, users should expect some prominent figures to crop up in the feed every now and then.

Quartz reports that Hillary Duff and Lindsey Lohan have been spotted on the site for those attracted to former Disney stars. Sorry ladies, no information has been released on what gents are to expect on the service.

Following the site releasing a hands-free smartwatch app which reportedly selects potential matches by measuring the heart rate of users, the celeb angle is just the latest feature implemented to draw new users.

The brand is also breaking new ground in video dating too, Tinder co-founder Sean Rad told The Drum at Cannes - check it out below.
