Nominations for the Scottish Event Awards 2015 revealed

Nominations for the Scottish Event Awards have been announced today with the Ryder Cup, Glasgow Film Festival and the National Museum of Scotland among those up for an award.

The awards up for grabs include Best Cultural Event, Best Sports Event and Best Exhibition and the winners will be announced at the event on 7 October at The Grand Central Hotel.

This year’s shortlist was selected by an eight-strong judging panel which included events manager at L’Oreal, Alison Williams; director of the Edinburgh Institute: Festivals, Events and Tourism, Jane Ali-Knight; Mark Stewart from EventScotland; senior events manager at EE, Kelly Philips and managing director at Kru-Live, Sarah Jane Benham.

The Ryder Cup has been nominated for Best Sporting Event while one of the most competitive categories is the Best Exhibition award which has Edinburgh Zoo, Glasgow Film Festival and the Edinburgh Wedding Fair and Fashion Show in contention for the award.

The National Museum of Scotland has been nominated for awards in five categories - Best Cultural Event, Best in House Event, Best Small Event, Best Large Venue and Best Educational Event.

Edinburgh Zoo is another of the clients nominated for multiple awards after being shortlisted for the Best Exhibition, Best In-House Event, Best Cause Related/Charity Event and Best Educational Event.
