Amazon is rolling out its one-hour deliveries to certain post codes in the Central London area, the company has announced.

Members of Amazon Prime in selected area will be able to receive one hour deliveries on a number of goods, following the expansion of Amazon Now from the US.

One hour deliveries require a minimum spend of £20 – with the delivery costing a further £6.99. Furthermore, shoppers must be subscribed to Amazon Prime, a £79 per year expense.

Christopher North, managing director of Amazon UK, said: “Millions of customers across London can use the Prime Now app today and discover over ten thousand items for one-hour delivery, or select a free two-hour, same-day delivery slot.

“This is just the beginning. London is our first Prime Now city in the UK and we are already working on making Prime Now available in more postcodes in London and beyond.”

The Amazon app also enables consumers to track couriers in real time to get a better idea of where their goods are.
