McCann London CEO Zaid Al-Zaidy says that CEOs have to surround themselves with great people and have passion for the business in order to be successful.

Al- Zaidy took up the role of CEO after just five months at McCann London. He has previously worked at TBWA\London where he was chief strategy officer, working on accounts with Adidas, Nissan GSK and Four Seasons.

Speaking to The Drum at Cannes Lions 2015, Al-Zaidy said “it’s all about people. It’s that Steve Jobs adage, A grade people hire A grade people and anything else beneath just creates a mess.”

He also said “unless you’re passionate about the product, there’s no way you can lead an agency of people.”
