Google Maps goes vertical with Yosemite El Capitan street view ascent
Google Maps has embarked on a mission to take web users on unique journeys be it the Amazon canopy, Harry Potter’s Diagon Alley, the Arabian desert or even the human body.
However, it’s latest mapping adventure was more ambitious than ever, with it sending a production team up Yosemite’s El Capitan cliff face to capture 360 degree footage for the service.
Enabling armchair mountaineers to scale 3000 feet up the rock wall with climbers Lynn Hill, Alex Honnold and Tommy Caldwell.
