Video-sharing platform Vimeo has teamed up with technology giant Samsung to produce an original short film series, whilst maintaining its ad-free status.

Born out of Vimeo’s Brand Creative Fund the campaign will see Vimeo ‘staff picked’ filmmakers invited to create 10 individual shorts of branded content, collectively dubbed ‘Connected’.

Exploring the human connection with technology the series will premiere through each filmmaker's Vimeo profile and supported Tumblr page with five being made available to view now and the remainder being drip fed over the next few months.

Greg Clayman, general manager, audience networks, Vimeo said: “Vimeo’s deep relationship with the filmmaking community gives us unprecedented access to up and coming filmmakers that approach content in new and unique ways. Collaborating with Samsung allowed us to tap into this creator pool and bring their passions to life in the ‘Connected’ series.”

The ten filmmakers selected to participate in the project include Bradley Munkowitz; Celia Rowlson-Hall; Drew Christie; Greg Brunkalla; Kogonada; Matty Brown; Oh Yeah Wow / Caviar; Paul Trillo / AFOG Productions and Variable.

Larry Cohen directed the Rain produced series.
